What is medicinal cannabis?

According to the Cannabis Act, 2020 of Saint Christopher and Nevis, medicinal
cannabis refers to:
-Cannabis cultivated for medicinal purposes
-Cannabis material manufactured for medicinal purposes
-A medicinal cannabis product manufactured or obtained for medicinal purposes

What are the qualifying medical conditions?

Under the Cannabis Act, 2020, a qualifying medical condition is an illness or condition
that significantly reduces a person’s quality of life. These include:
– Pain associated with cancer
– Severe and treatment-resistant nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy
– HIV or AIDS
– Parkinson’s disease
– Multiple sclerosis
– Severe intractable epilepsy
– Spinal cord damage with intractable spasticity

– Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
– Rheumatoid arthritis or similar chronic autoimmune inflammatory disorders
– Autism
– Glaucoma
– Sickle cell anaemia
– Anxiety
– Sleep disorders
– Chronic pain
– Alzheimer’s disease
– Crohn’s disease
– Hepatitis B
– Dravet’s syndrome
– Depression
– Any other illness or condition declared by the Minister by Order published in the
Gazette

Is medicinal cannabis legal?

Medicinal cannabis is legal under specific regulations and licensing requirements.

Who can prescribe medicinal cannabis?

Only licensed medical practitioners can prescribe medicinal cannabis treatments.
